JXD Gamepad 2 Officially Announces, Priced At $150

(GSM Insider) - JXD Gamepad 2 Officially Announces, Priced At $150.

Earlier, JXD launches its latest handheld gaming console known as the JXD Gamepad 2. It is the second Gamepad from JXD. This is a technology based in Hong Kong


JXD Gamepad 2 S7300 is a handheld gaming console with 7-inch 5 points capacitive touch display. The display resolution is as high as 1024 x 600. It is powered by 1.5GHz Amlogic dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and Mali 400 GPU. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. JXD Gamepad 2 S7300 has 8GB of internal memory and supports microSD expansion.

(GSM Insider) - Archos Gamepad Makes Appearance At CES 2013, Hands-on With Android Handheld Gaming Console.

Android is not only able to run on tablets and smartphones, it also compatible with the gaming console. Archos Gamepad is one of the gaming console on sale in the market.





This Archos Gamepad no longer something stranger for those gaming geeks. This 7-inch Archos Gamepad was officially unveiled back in last year. Anyway, it still makes its appearance at the CES 2013

Archos Gamepad is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and a Mali 400-MP GPU. Ir runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Besides these, it has 8GB of internal memory and micro-HDMI port. It supports microSD expansion as well. 

Archos Gamepad was on sale in European countries back in October last year and on sale in North American this month.

(GSM Insider) - NVIDIA Unveiled Tegra 4 Powered Project Shield, Pure Android Handheld Gaming Console

Is NVIDIA entering the Android handheld gaming console market? The answer is yes. NVIDIA CEO Jenn-Hsung Huang just unveils the handheld gaming console runs powered by Tegra 4 known as the "Project Shield".


This NVIDIA Project Shield is pure Android handheld gaming console without nonsense. It runs on Android operating system so it has nothing different with other Android smartphones and the tablets in the market. It has a 5-inch small display and a gaming controller. The 5-inch display on NVIDIA Project Shield is "retina" quality which is 720p.

If you think the display is too small for your eyes, dont worry. NVIDIA Project Shield comes with HDMI port that enable the connection to TV. So it is more than just a smaller gaming console. 


NVIDIA CEO Jenn-Hsung Huang showcased the NVIDIA Project Shield by playing the Dead Arrival 2. The Android gaming console is connected to a 4K TV. It is able to connect to TV via the HDMI cable. 

In the future, more games coming soon to the TegraZone. So the NVIDIA Project Shield able to access to the games at TegraZone and Google Play as well. NVIDIA Project Shield also able to stream the game to PC or TV via VNC-line wireless technology. 

This NVIDIA Shield is quite an explosive bomb at the CES 2013. Hopefully NVIDIA able to bring the gaming console to the market soon.

Exclusive: Microsoft Working On 7 Inch Xbox Surface Gaming Tablet

(GSM Insider) - After Microsoft launched the Surface tablet, there were rumours stated that Microsoft is preparing the Surface phone. Another rumour pop up and stated that Microsoft is currently working on a gaming tablet which is known as the Xbox Surface.


Xbox Surface tablet is a gaming tablet that has a 7 inches of display. The size of 7 inches is definitely larger than the other portable gaming devices like Sony PSP. Perhaps this is a new chance for Microsoft to develop another new tablet which is concentrate on gaming. 

It is a wise way if Microsoft set to release the gaming tablet with the Xbox brand. It will continue the Xbox label into the tablet market. Perhaps this is the first step for Microsoft to enter the 7 inch tablet market. 

The processor could be ARM processor or Intel processor. But the RAM and internal memory should larger than other tablets to handle the intense gaming. Furthermore, the GPU must be powerful to provide perfect graphic experience. It is remains unknown whether the Xbox Surface will feature 1080p Full HD display. 

Microsoft representative refused to comment on this matter at the moment. Therefore, there are nothing official yet as everything just a speculation.

When PSP Meets Android, And It Became... Android Player


(GSM Insider) - Since Sony launched the PSP a few years back. There are many companies that tried to copy its design. But to avoid involvement in lawsuit, all those copied devices are not so impressive. And now, another PSP look alike device spotted in China that runs on Android operating system.

Hmmm. China is a land of copycat? Perhaps. An unknown Chinese company JXD unveils a device that look like the Sony PSP. Its model number is S602. So the name of the device is JXD S602. From the image, we can see the player also name as the Android Player. It is the JXD Android Player S602. 

The PSP look alike Android Player comes with 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of ROM with microSD expansion, PowerVR SGX531 GPU and also G-Sensor for motion games. The JXD Android Player S602 comes with a very low quality VGA camera, WiFi connectivity, HDMI Port and 2500mAh battery. The battery power are quite large if just for gaming purposes. Its running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. WOAH!

The price of JXD S602 set at 66 USD. OMG! So cheap! But the specs is not so cheap what. For a gaming device, you dont need any high camera, right? And its runs on ICS! Its very cheap! Hope we get more news on this soon! [Source]

World's First Android Portable Gaming Console - MG


(GSM Insider) - One company from the United States created World's first Android powered portable gaming console - MG. They hope to compete with Nintendo and Sony in the portable gaming console market. 

MG is similar with Android smartphone in the design and outlook, but it can just playing games, listening to music and playing some video. However, the specs of MG are not high end. Here are some key specifications of MG:

Display: 4 inch WVGA touchscreen
Processor: 1GHz TCC8925 Cortex-A5
RAM: 1GB
ROM: 4GB, microSD expansion
Battery: 1880mAh
Operating system: Android 4.0 ICS
Camera: 1.3MP front camera
Extras: WiFi, USB 2.0 port, 3.5mm audio jack

It is quite a disappointment from the specs of MG as it only comes with single core processor. This means that it will not able to run those high quality games.  [Source]
