(GSM Insider) - Coolpad 5890 With Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8625Q Scores More Than 10,000 Points At Benchmark.

Coolpad 5890 were among the new Coolpad devices that made an appearance at the CES 2013 two weeks ago. Finally, its benchmark result surfaced.


Coolpad 5890 is powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8625Q quad-core processor. It is the first smartphone powered by the Qualcomm's MSM8625Q processor. So the benchmark result of the Coolpad 5890 is important as it sets an example for manufacturers that intend to use this mobile processor.

Coolpad 5890 scores 10751 points at the AnTuTu Benchmark result. In other words, the devices that powered by Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8625Q should score around 10,000 points at AnTuTu Benchmark.

Coolpad 5890 has a 4.5-inch qHD display and heading to China Telecom soon.

Nokia doesn't have any plan to launch its Windows Phone 8 devices in China in the coming future. At the moment, HTC 8X and HTC 8S are the Windows Phone 8 devices that heading to China Telecom. The same goes to Huawei Ascend W1 as it has no plan for China Telecom yet. 

If this news is true, Chinese users will not see any Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 that compatible with CDMA network coming in near future

Huawei Ascend W1 is the first Windows Phone 8 device from the Chinese manufacturer. It was launched at the CES 2013 two weeks ago. 

Finally, this Huawei Ascend W1 is on sale at Huawei Online Store. But it is only limited to those living in China. The Huawei Ascend W1 that on sale is the WCDMA/ GSM version with model number of W1-U00. So it is exclusive for China Telecom.

Huawei Ascend W1 is a low budget Windows Phone 8 device. It has a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. The camera is 5-megapixels and VGA.

Huawei Ascend W1 on sale with the price of RMB $1599 ($273). But Huawei offers RMB $100 rebate for those who place the order now. So the price after rebate is RMB $1499 only. It is one of the cheapest Windows phone 8 devices in China.

Huawei Ascend W1 For China Telecom Leaked, Hands On With Blue and Red

(GSM Insider) - Huawei Ascend W1 For China Telecom Leaked, First Look Appears In Blue and Red.

Huawei Ascend W1 was unveiled last week at the CES 2013. It is the first Windows Phone 8 device from the Chinese company. However, this Huawei Ascend W1 is not any high end device. 





The Huawei Ascend W1 available in different version in China. This is the China Telecom's Huawei Ascend W1. The model number is W1-C00. 

Actually, this Huawei Ascend W1 was approved on December last year in China even before the CES 2013. China Telecom's Huawei Ascend W1 is compatible with the CDMA2000 network so it is not working with the global GSM network. 

At the CES 2013, Huawei Ascend W1 was showed off in four colours - red, blue, white and black. It continues the tradition of Windows Phone which is in multiple colours. 

Huawei Ascend W1 having a 4-inch IPS LCD display. It powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 dual-core processor and Adreno 305 GPU. It comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. The rear facing camera is 5-megapixels and VGA front facing camera. 

The price of Huawei Ascend W1 is said to be around RMB $1499 in China. If you not satisfied with this Huawei Ascend W1, dont worry. Huawei Ascend W2 is on its way to the Mobile World Congress 2013 on next month. It is said to be a high end Windows Phone 8 device.

(GSM Insider) - China Telecom's XiaoMi Phone 2 Approves, Compatible With Three Major Networks.

Three days before, XiaoMi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that China Telecom's XiaoMi Phone 2 launching within two weeks. Finally, this device receives green light from the Chinese authority. 



XiaoMi Phone 2 for China Telecom is similar like the XiaoMi Phone 2 previously on sale in China. The main different is this China Telecom model supports three major networks in China. It is not only compatible with the CDMA2000 and CDMA 1X network of China Telecom, it also supports WCDMA and GSM networks as well. 

XiaoMi Phone 2 China Telecom version has 4.3-inch 720p HD display, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory and 8-megapixels of rear camera. It runs on MIUI V4 which is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. 

The China Telecom's XiaoMi Phone 2 is priced at RMB $1999. It will launch by China Telecom in coming two weeks.

XiaoMi Phone 2 is very popular in China as the sales numbers were impressive last year. GSM Insider reveals that XiaoMi Phone 2 achieved more than 1 million units sales since it was launched. The XiaoMi Phone 2 is the GSM /WCDMA model. How about other model?


Earlier today, XiaoMi CEO with the name of Lei Jun confirms that the XiaoMi Phone 2 for China Telecom launching within two weeks. In other words, XiaoMi Phone 2 will available before the Chinese Lunar New Year. 

XiaoMi Phone 2 for China Telecom and XiaoMi Phone 2 having the same specs. It features 4.3-inch 720p HD display, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core, 2GB RAM, 8-megapixels camera and MIUI V4 based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. 

The only different is the network compatibility. XiaoMi Phone 2 for China Telecom supports the GSM/CDMA2000/1X EV-DO network. But it remains no news whether XiaoMi Phone 2 will available in TD-SCDMA version. 

Earlier this month, GSM Insider revealed that XiaoMi Technology successfully shipped more than 7 million units of XiaoMi phones in  year 2012 alone.

After the C8812 and C8812+ launched at China Telecom, another budget smartphone was launched in China as well. It is known as the Huawei C8813.


Huawei C8813 is the smartphone that exclusively available at China Telecom. It has 9.3mm body, 4.5-inch of display with 854 x 480 resolution, 1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 MSM8625, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. Huawei C8813 supports micro-SD expansion as well.

Other features include 5-megapixels of rear camera and 1700mAh battery. Huawei C8813 supports CDMA2000 network of China Telecom and GSM network. Huawei C8813 comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Another day, another news on the Huawei Ascend D2. Huawei Ascend D2 is upcoming 5-inch Android phablet coming soon from the Chinese manufacturer.


According to Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong, Huawei Ascend D2 is going to on sale in China within this month after the launch at CES 2013. In other words, this 5-inch phablet probably going to on sale by end of January 2013. 

He reveals that the Huawei Ascend D2 on sale this month is the one heading to China Telecom. The model number is D2-2012. It was successfully obtained license from Chinese government as early as mid-December last year. 

The Huawei charismatic CEO confirms that Huawei Ascend D2 for China Telecom comes with dual-SIM supports. This Huawei Ascend D2 is indeed water-proof, dust-proof and scratch-proof device as it was made by steel.

According to the document from China, a smartphone with the model number of Huawei W1-C00 arrives for inspection. This Huawei W1-C00 already approved for launch in the Chinese market. From the model number and design, it is indeed the Huawei Ascend W1

However, it is not the global version of Huawei Ascend W1. This Huawei Ascend W1 W1-C00 is compatible with the CDMA2000 network of China Telecom. There is a logo of China Telecom at the back of the device as well. It is believes that this Huawei W1-C00 is the one for China Telecom. 

Although this is the one that heading to China Telecom, but the design of the global version should remain the same as well. With the CES 2013 coming soon, the secret of Windows Phone 8 devices from Huawei will be reveal as well.

The iPhone 5 already launched at China Telecom and China Unicom in China last week. Both of these two carriers are the minor players in Chinese telecommunication industry as it is dominating by China Mobile. However, China Mobile not offers any iPhone 5 at the moment. The images below are the iPhone 5 for China Telecom. See how it gets hands-on and unboxing. 


This is the iPhone 5 for China Telecom. The packaging remains the same like other packagings around the world. Nothing much different on the white packaging. 


At the back of the packaging, it showed that the iPhone 5 was designed by Apple and assembled in China. The version is 16GB and white colour. The model number of this device is A1442. The part no. is ME040CH/A. It was manufactured within this year 2012. 


The packaging of iPhone 5 showed some specs as well. It supports CDMA EV-DO Rev A network. So the iPhone 5 only compatible with the network of China Telecom. It does not state whether it supports WCDMA / GSM network.

Finally, the iPhone 5 gets hands on. It supports the CDMA network of China Telecom. But never insert SIM card of China Unicom and China Mobile. 


Conclusion: The outlook of this iPhone 5 is similar like the one available at every around the world. It supports only network of China Telecom at the moment. However, it can use on networks of China Mobile and China Unicom if someone successfully bypass the verification of SIM card. Experts are needed in this issue.
