Qualcomm Officially Announces Snapdragon 200 and Snapdragon 400, Chipsets For Low End Market

(GSM Insider) - Qualcomm Officially Announces Snapdragon 200 and Snapdragon 400, Chipsets For Low End Market.

Qualcomm officially ditched the "S-Series" from its mobile processor. No more Snapdragon S5 after the Snapdragon S4 Pro. New series being introduced for the System on Chip (SoC) for this year. 

On last month, Qualcomm announced the "insanely fast" Snapdragon 800 and Snapdragon 600. LG Optimus G Pro and HTC One are two of the latest devices that powered by the Snapdragon 600. Earlier today, Qualcomm unveils the Snapdragon 400 and Snapdragon 200. Both chipsets are targeting the low end market. 

The Snapdragon 200 series features four ARM Cortex A5 CPU Cores with the speeds clocked up to 1.4GHz. It supports 8-megapixels camera, GPS, HD video playback and multi-SIM capacity. 

The Snapdragon 400 series comes in two possible configurations: One with dual Krait cores (Cortex A9) that clocked up to 1.7GHz or a quad-core Cortex A7 that clocked up to 1.4GHz. The Snapdragon 400 has built-in Adreno 305 GPU for 3D gaming. 

Qualcomm stated that there are more than 55 devices that are powered by Snapdragon 800 series. The first device should arrive in the second half of 2013.
