Amazon Announces Kindle Fire 2, Price At $159

(GSM Insider) - Yesterday, Nokia and Motorola announced their new devices. Today, Amazon announces new Kindle tablets for the market. At the event, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos delivered his speeches. He introduces two new Kindle -- Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire 2. The Kindle Fire 2 also known as Kindle Fire 2012 or New Kindle Fire.


The new Kindle Fire 2 still with the 7 inch display like the older Kindle Fire. But here are the improvements:

- New faster processor

- 2X the RAM, 512 in the old so 1GB in the new

- 40% faster performance

- Longer battery life

- Retailing at $159

- Orders start today and ship September 14th
